In a nutshell

As a Project Engineer in the Equipment team at Picnic, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing our supply chain infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for designing, sourcing, and implementing custom-built equipment that enhances operational efficiency and safety across our Fulfilment Centers and logistics network. By deeply understanding operational challenges, you’ll develop innovative solutions, negotiate large-scale purchases, and ensure seamless execution. This role is perfect for someone who is analytical, technically skilled, and passionate about building and continuous improvement.

Develop cutting-edge solutions: Design and implement custom equipment to improve efficiency and safety in our logistics and fulfilment operations.

Enhance operational performance: Address challenges such as tailgate safety, charging infrastructure, and packaging improvements to streamline processes.

Lead high-impact projects: Take ownership of initiatives like frozen tote innovation, automated bagging solutions, and improved monitoring systems.

Negotiate and procure strategically: Manage high-value equipment purchases to optimize costs and ensure long-term operational success.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with operations, procurement, and technical teams to drive seamless implementation.

Use data to drive decisions: Analyse operational data, test prototypes, and iterate on designs to enhance supply chain performance.

We’re looking for

Finished HBO or Master’s degree, preferably in a technical or engineering discipline

0-3 years of experience in project or engineering management

black dot

Fluency in English and preferably Dutch, French and/or German

black dot

Independent, communicative, and confident personality

You are very driven and always want to improve processes

You are operational and have a hands-on mentality

Willingness to travel to different locations across the Netherlands, Germany & France
