Caretaker
In a Nutshell
Every day, we collect thousands of groceries in our Fulfilment Centres (FCs). The groceries are then sent to our Hubs, and from there they’re delivered via our electric vehicles to our happy customers. In one FC, there could be more than 400 employees working per day, with everyone contributing to an on-time and efficient service. This role is based in our state of the art Automated FC in Utrecht. As a caretaker at Picnic, you are the person who keeps our Automated FC running smoothly on a facility level. You’re the go-to handy person who can help with anything and ensure the building is well-maintained. Think of tasks like repairing doors, installing collision protection, building a picking table, and maintaining the outdoor area. You know how to safely use (electric) tools and have a practical mindset. In addition, you are tech-savvy and will be adjusting scanners, replacing touch screens, and making sure all dashboards are functioning properly. You’ll address people when they leave their workspace untidy and act as a point of contact for various parties at our Fulfillment Center. You’re also available in case of emergencies, for which you’ll receive time-off compensation. Together with your fellow caretaker colleague, you’ll divide the shifts each week and ensure there’s always someone on-site. Weekends and holidays? No problem for you!
Tricks of the Trade
Repairing: You’re a true handyman or handywoman. You can fix almost anything!
IT tasks: You can navigate all digital systems and enjoy working with computer technology.
Taking responsibility: You have a strong sense of responsibility. The Fulfillment Center is your domain, and you make sure everything looks and works perfectly.
Working independently: You work well on your own and often know something’s not working before anyone even tells you.
Communicating: You communicate clearly and enjoy working with various (external) parties.
About You...
Technical knowledge and experience.
A completed education in a technical field.
You are flexible, and available 5 days a week:
We require at least 1 caretaker onsite from 05:30-18:00 each day. You and our other caretaker will be responsible to ensure these hours are covered. Each working a 9 hour shift within these hours (including a 1-hour break).
One weekend day every week and public holidays.
You speak fluent English or Dutch
You have a valid driver’s license
You are motivated, independent, and precise
