In a nutshell 

Ever since Picnic started, the importance of consistent high-quality product photography was clear to us. That's why we don't settle for supplier images or standard packshots. We shoot beautiful images in our in-house photo studios. Our product images should not only be recognisable, they should also look delicious and inspire our customers. 

As we look to the future, AI will play an increasingly vital role in optimizing our visual content, making our operations more scalable and future-proof, and freeing up our creatives to do what they love most: be creative. 

In this exciting combined role, you’ll blend your skills in both photography and retouching, taking full ownership of the visual workflow. Working together with experienced photographers, retouchers and category managers, you make sure that our customers will only see best-in-class product photos. Are you an experienced product photographer with excellent Photoshop skills and are you excited to contribute to our evolving visual strategy? Then we’re looking for you!

Ownership: Have responsibility for the product photography process, ensuring all deliverables are finished on time

Fast-paced: Shoot and retouch high volume of products across many categories, from bakery to drugstore

Quality: Produce high quality content that align with Picnic's guideline standards, as well as experiment with new photography and edits to improve our strategy

Learn: Contribute actively to the transition we are making in visual content optimization using AI tools

Configuration: ensure all images are correctly configured in our systems

Equipment: Maintain necessary camera tools, photography props and studio equipment

Your superpowers

At least 3 years of professional experience in e-commerce product photography

Advanced technical skills, you are capable of independently building  lighting setups

Demonstrated experience in handling high volume in-house photography workflows

Experience with AI tools, or eager to learn more about using AI tools to enhance creativity and efficiency

Excellent knowledge of Photoshop and Capture One

Great attention for detail, ability to notice the small but important things

Strong portfolio with relevant product photography and Photoshop examples

Degree in a relevant photography or design field is an advantage

Demonstrates flexibility and a can do mentality in a fast-paced work environment

Good English communication skills, verbal and written

You're based in the Netherlands to be able to work from our beautiful photo studio and office in Amsterdam
